The Missouri Eating Disorders Association (MOEDA) is a local nonprofit in the St. Louis area dedicated to fighting eating disorders, educating communities, and saving lives. We are committed to breaking the silence around eating disorders. One of the main ways in which we accomplish this mission is through our Feed The Facts Program which is an interactive, informative, and educational curriculum given to middle school and high school students. This program provides critical information to address the serious and deathly health epidemic that are eating disorders. The program teaches the students about the different eating disorders, corrects the existing myths surrounding eating disorders, discusses the signs and symptoms, discusses body image and social media, and gives tools to help yourself and others. This past school year alone, we have given 323 presentations to over 9,500 students in 31 public and private St. Louis schools. During the upcoming school year, we will be expanding our program to elementary students, presenting a new curriculum on body image.
